Dynasylan® for high- performance adhesives and sealants

Dynasylan® products boost the performance of adhesives and sealants and offer numerous features and benefits such as improved mechanical properties, chemical resistance, compatibility and hydrophobicity. The broad product range comprises environmentally friendly almost VOC-free products.
Organofunctional silanes play multiple, but always elementary roles in moisture-curing hybrid sealants based on SMP – a powerful product cannot be formulated without silanes! Vinylfunctional Dynasylan® VTMO traditionally acts as a water scavenger for water bearing raw materials.
Particularly suitable for transportation are Dynasylan® 1146 and Dynasylan® SIVO 203, especially designed to develop adhesives and sealants with low yellowing, outstanding adhesion performance and extraordinnary water-repellent effect. The products allow formulating environmentally friendly adhesives and sealants caused by considerably reduced VOC amounts.
The water-based and therefore environmentally friendly Dynasylan® SIVO 203, a special designed, multifunctional silane system, did not cause any yellowing of the transparent STPE sealants in our lab trials – both after 10 months exposure to light and darkness - with and without stabilizer.
It is the essential performance of silanes that allows adhesives and sealants, when exposed to moisture or applied to particularly difficult surfaces, to be as effective as we know them today. Dynasylan® silanes protect modern adhesives and sealants from high levels of environmental humidity, and maintain the full adhesive capacity of joined but not yet cured adhesive surfaces.
