Evonik will be presenting its silicic acid esters from the Dynasylan® SILBOND® brand for the first time at the European Coatings Show. The product and the binders that are based on it confer excellent resistance to chemicals, the elements, and extreme temperatures. This makes Dynasylan® SILBOND® especially interesting for shipbuilding applications, where it is used in anti-corrosion coatings and in zinc dust paints.
The Dynasylan® brand has stood for silane research, production, and application for more than 50 years. Dynasylan® modifies surfaces and also promotes adhesion between organic coatings and inorganic surfaces.
Evonik Industries, one of the global market leaders in specialty chemicals, last year expanded its strong position on the silanes market: in February 2014, the Group acquired Silbond, a leading provider of silicic acid esters based in the United States. The Silbond business is the ideal complement to Evonik’s silane portfolio.
