Dynasylan® for resin modification

Resins are the basis of all coating systems. Silanes can be used to modify these resins to improve performance. Silanes are used as monomers during the synthesis of resins.

They are commonly used in the following resin systems:

  • Acrylic dispersions:

Vinylsilanes are often used as monomer for the synthesis of acrylic dispersions. Such silane-modified systems have improved scrub, adhesion, or weathering resistance.

  • Polyurethanes:

Isocyanides are often reacted with secondary aminosilanes such as Dynasylan® 1122, Dynasylan® 1189, or Dynasylan® 1124 to form so-called end-capped polyurethanes. These resins systems are commonly moisture-cured.
