The diversity of the Dynasylan^® product group is unparalleled. It ranges from Dynasylan^® products, which for decades have been synonymous with functionality and reliability, to state of the art Multifunctional Silane Systems™, which are an important component in the realization of modern cable and pipe systems. As well as aminosilanes and vinyl silanes, the Evonik brand Dynasylan^® includes a wide range of Dynasylan^® SILFIN products whose chemical structures are specially designed to match the various polymers used in cable and pipe manufacturing. In products belonging to the brand family Dynasylan^® HYDROSIL, the necessary alcohol is removed during production in a controlled procedure specially developed by Evonik. This means that neither Dynasylan^® HYDROSIL nor the end product produces environmentally-unfriendly VOC (Volatile Organic Compound).

How to Find the Suitable Dynasylan^® Grade

For safety reasons, the use of low flame and low smoke cables is becoming more and more important. These cables are usually based on polymers, such as polyethylene and EVA, and are filled with mineral fillers that release water upon exposure to elevated temperatures. The result is a cable that, in the case of a fire, produces significantly less smoke, chars instead of melts and thus dramatically reduces fire propagation. Common fillers are aluminum trihydroxide and magnesium dihydroxide. Which is the right silane to choose depends on the polymer matrix.
