Storage Stability

Silanes used as drying agents can capture any latent moisture trapped in moisture-curable hybrid sealants and silicones or present in the immediate environment.

The moisture absorption capability of silanes help increasing the shelf life of the stored product as shown in Figure 1 and prevent any premature cure by avoiding reaction between the moisture and chemically active groups in the Adhesive/Sealant. This also helps improving the mechanical strength especially in the case of hybrid sealants.
