Traditional metal pre-treatment solutions face increasing skepticism because of the use of ingredients that pose environmental as well occupational health hazards.
Dynasylan^® HYDROSIL and SIVO^® SOL Ttechnology is a novel technology and Sol-gel chemistry is a technology that has the potential to overcome the challenges thee metal pre-treatment industry faces today. A water-based sol-gel system for metal surfaces protection will be presented. As it neither contains heavy metals (e.g. chromium) nor inorganic fluorides, cost intensive waste management can be reduced to a minimum.
