Dynasylan®, Protectosil® and Siridion® History
- Once upon a time, over 100 years ago, an electrochemical plant was founded in Rheinfelden (Baden), Germany. The Rhine river supplied the energy that was needed to produce inorganic chemical products by chloralkali electrolysis. This was the first European hydroelectric power plant.

- Several decades later, the age of organic chemical products had begun, and vinyl chloride became our most important product - the base of the world's most famous plastic, polyvinylchloride (PVC).

- During the 1960s, another new and increasingly forward-looking production focus began to emerge: silicon chemicals. Today, the entire production at Rheinfelden is dedicated to the manufacture of silicon-based specialty chemicals: chlorosilanes, organofunctional silanes and silicic acid esters.

Our chlorosilanes production site is one of the biggest worldwide
- Since then we have also expanded beyond the original site in Rheinfelden (Baden) to establish manufacturing facilities in Mobile (Alabama), Antwerp (Belgium) and Bitterfeld (Germany) which have helped us to achieve an outstanding position supplying the world market for silanes and of course to develop continuously new Silanes products with and for our customers.
